Good old Galibier - regularly the "Roof of Tour de France" and along with famous Col du Tourmalet, Alpe d'Huez and Mont Ventoux one of "the" classic climbs of the Tour. On top one has an amazing view to opposite 4,000m high Ecrin massif. As an appetizer you can firstly take on northern ramp the route via Col du Telegraphe (see also route of cycling marathon La Marmotte).
